FAQ
Where are you located?
9160 E. Bahia Dr. Suite 107, Scottsdale, AZ 85260
1405 N. Dobson Rd. Suite 1 Chandler, AZ 85224
If we meet online, you can be… well, anywhere!
What are your hours?
Most of our clients are busy professionals, so we try my best to accommodate your schedule. That means we do evenings and weekends upon request.
How long are your sessions?
How does online counseling work?
With what age ranges do you work?
What exactly is a free initial phone consultation?
You can tell me about yourself and what you’re looking for in a therapist. I will tell you about my clinical impression and my approach to best help you. I often suggest good reads based on your issues, and I always provide resources and referrals if we are not a good fit.
What is your cancellation policy?
That being said, emergencies happen. If there is a surprise, health, or family issue, I understand and will try to reschedule within the week.
Do you take insurance?
The availability of insurance covered individual therapy sessions is limited. Couple therapy is NOT covered by insurance typically.
Do you give homework?
It serves numerous purposes, including helping you integrate new skills into your life, expanding therapy beyond the time we spend together in session, and giving you additional insight into yourself.
When assigning homework, I do my best to maximize the assignment’s usefulness while keeping in mind the amount of time you have in your busy schedule to complete it.
What should I expect at the first session?
We’ll also talk about what has brought you in for therapy, your symptoms, and your primary goals for our journey together.
How often do I need to come to therapy and get results?
The goal is not to adopt you as a therapy client forever; it’s to help you accomplish your goals and transform your life.
Therapy is a process that requires time, effort, and, most importantly, your commitment to making lasting change in your life. You will get the best and quickest results by attending therapy sessions weekly. This is especially important in the beginning as we get to know one another and build trust.
When you commit to taking consistent action toward your goals, you will see results.
What are your therapy sessions like?
I will provide education on topics as the need arises and add exercises and activities you can work on outside our weekly sessions. The goal is to take what you learn in those 50 minutes and apply it to your daily life.
We will discuss difficult topics, so you might experience sadness, anger, or other emotions during our sessions. This is normal and an indicator that we are on the right track. Letting yourself feel sad or angry can be scary, but I will be there. I will help you embrace the feeling, figure out why you’re feeling that way, and reduce the intensity of the emotions. The feeling is temporary, and relief is on the other side if you stick with it.
My clients have said they leave sessions feeling relieved, lighter, hopeful, optimistic, energized, motivated, and empowered. Those 50 minutes are powerful and life-changing!
