Relationship Counseling
- Have you lost a sense of fulfillment and happiness in your relationship with your significant other?
- Do you feel that tension and conflict are driving you apart?
- Is lack of commitment from your partner making you feel anxious and depressed?
Confusion and uncertainty might be running through your mind as you’re second-guessing whether or not you should stay together. Although you may know you want him, you don’t know if you actually like him. Or perhaps you’ve already decided to get out of this unhealthy relationship, but you’re still in love with him and don’t know how to make a break.
Fortunately, relationship counseling on an individual basis can be an invaluable tool for getting to the root of the issues underlying your interpersonal relationships and finding clarity.
When you focus on your relationship with yourself, you’ll have a better understanding of how to face the problems you’re encountering with your partner.
In our first session together, we will determine what your primary goals are for relationship counseling, whether it is to improve your relationship, help decide if you should end it, or how best to embark on a potential future relationship. We will explore your history (including lifestyle, past relationships, major life events, and family background) to get an idea of what has led you to where you are today, as well as discuss what your life goals are outside of your relationship.
With 15 years of clinical training and practice as a licensed mental health professional, relationship issues are one of the areas I help my clients with the most. By employing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) you will gain self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-love.
When you focus on your relationship with yourself, you’ll have a better understanding of how to face the problems you’re encountering with your partner. The techniques mastered in our sessions together will underscore the power of your mind. And when you master your mind, good things — like a fulfilling relationship — naturally follow.
